The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate denounced the Israeli determination to direct the Palestinian journalists and their families in an effort to bury the truth and hide its crimes and massacres against the Palestinian population.
In a statement Sunday, the Journalists Syndicate said that on day 100 of Israel’s war and Genocide of the Palestinian civilians in Gaza, the Israeli army killed yet another journalist, a cameraman working for the Al-Ghad TV, Yazan Zoweidi.
It added that Yazan’s murder by the Israeli occupation forces brings the number of slain Palestinians since October 7, 2023, to 112, including 14 female journalists.
The Syndicate added that Israel is deliberately targeting the Palestinian journalists and their families in an effort to prevent them from documenting the ongoing and escalating Genocide committed by Israel and its army against the Palestinian people in general and the Palestinians in Gaza in particular.
“This vicious and deliberate targeting of the journalists and their families in Gaza is an assault on the truth itself,” the Journalists’ Syndicate said, “The Journalists in Gaza and their families are declared targets for Israel in its efforts to bury the truth and silence the media the expose its crimes.”
The Syndicate also warned of the ongoing Israeli crimes and efforts to not only silence the truth but also to spread false claims and allegations aimed at preventing any future international prosecution and to avoid being brought to justice at the International Criminal Court.
An example of such violations is the head of the Al-Jazeera office in Gaza, Wa’el Dahdouh, who lost fourteen members of his family, including his wife, son, and daughter and his grandchild after the army fired a missile at their home, and on January 8, 2024, Israel kill his son Hamza Wa’el Al-Dahdouh, 29.
