Israeli soldiers killed, on Thursday evening, a Palestinian teen, 17 years of age, and seriously wounded three others, after opening fire at their car near the al-Jalazonerefugee camp, north of Ramallah, in central West Bank.
Mohammad Hattab, 17, his parent’s only child, was shot with live rounds in his chest and shoulder, and was rushed to a hospital where he died from his serious wounds, Medical sources reported. The sources added that Jassem Nakhla, 18, was shot in the head and leg, Mohammad Nakhla, 18, was shot in his shoulder and leg, and Mohammad Hattab, 18, was shot in his abdomen. The three wounded teens remain in very serious conditions at the Intensive Care Unit.
Eyewitnesses said the shots were fired by Israeli soldiers on a tower, one of many surrounding Beit El colony, where the “Civil Administration” which runs the military occupation of the Palestinian territory, is located. The Israeli army claimed that the soldiers opened fire at a Palestinian car, after the passengers hurled Molotov cocktails on the military tower.
Following the teen’s death clashes took place between many local youngsters, who hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at the soldiers who fired live rounds, gas bombs, concussion grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets.
Earlier, The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers abducted, on Thursday at dawn, 17 Palestinians in different parts of the occupied West Bank, and confiscated machines from a blacksmith’s workshop near Hebron.
In addition, a large military force invaded the Shweika area, in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, and stormed two print shops. The soldiers violently searched the print shops, causing excessive damage, and confiscated machines and computers, in addition to tax documents.
Elsewhere, Israeli navy ships attacked, earlier Thursday, several Palestinian fishing boats, in the Sudaniyya Sea area, northwest of Gaza City, abducted two fishers, and confiscated their boats. The navy attacked the Palestinian fishing boats as they were sailing less than four nautical miles from the shore.
