A Palestinian child was killed on Saturday by an unexploded ordnance in the village of Al-Rashaida, south of Bethlehem in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that 7-year-old child, Mohammad Yasser Ali Rashaida, was killed on Saturday morning after an unexploded Israeli landmine in the village of Al-Rashaida.

Jumaa Al-Rashaida, the head of the Al-Rashaida village council told the WAFA News Agency that the child and his father were in an area used by the Israeli army for military training.

Al-Rashaida added that the child and his father were grazing their livestock in the village when they found an Israeli landmine which exploded, killing the child when he came in contact with it.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 824 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 170 children, and injured 6,500.

The distribution of those killed in the West Bank is as follows; 222 in Jenin, 187 in Tulkarem, 93 in Nablus, 77 in Hebron, 66 in Tubas, 59 in Ramallah, 50 in occupied Jerusalem, 33 in Qalqilia, 21 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 45,227 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 107,573 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remain buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.

In related news, Israeli forces killed two Palestinians, including an elderly woman, and shot four others, on Thursday, after invading the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the elderly woman, Halima Saleh Hassan Abu Al-Layl, 80, succumbed to critical gunshot wounds after occupation forces shot her in the chest, leg, and hand.

Additionally, the Ministry announced the death of the young man, Qusay Hamed Issa Sarouji, 25, after Israeli forces shot him in the head with live rounds, causing critical injuries.


Israeli forces assassinated four Palestinian young men, on Thursday, and seriously injured three others, after a drone strike targeted a vehicle in the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources identified the slain men as Mohammad Nafeez Ahmad Rahaymeh, 31, Tariq Mahmoud Mohammad Al-Dash, 30, and the brothers, Dosm Sufyan Ahmad Al-Awfi, 19, and Mohammad Rahim Ahmad Al-Awfi, 26.
