A Palestinian teenager died, on Tuesday, five days after sustaining a serious gunshot wound during an Israeli incursion into the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
According to medical sources at the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, the young man, Nour al-Din Ibrahim Yassin, 18, died on Tuesday evening, of a live gunshot wound to the head inflicted on him by occupation soldiers last week.
Media sources said that Yassin, a resident of the village of Deir Abu Da’if, east of the city, was shot in the head by Israeli forces and critically injured during an attack against the city on February 29, 2024.
Israeli soldiers had invaded the city and besieged a residential building in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood in the city, amid heavy firing of live ammunition.
The young man suffered a serious injury after soldiers shot him in the head, before undergoing many surgeries before his death was announced.
Many Palestinian youths gathered at the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, on Tuesday night, and carried the slain teen’s body, wrapped in a Palestinian flag, through the streets, while mourners denounced the ongoing genocide against the Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli forces shot and killed the child, Mohammad Hisham Shehadeh, 16, near Huwwara town, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, after an alleged stabbing attack.
