Earlier Wednesday, Israeli soldiers abducted three Palestinians and detained many others, and assaulted many of them, in the Hebron governorate, in the occupied West Bank’s southern part.
Media sources said Israeli soldiers abducted Ehab Taha Saleh Najjar from Hebron city after storming and searching his home, and two teenagers, Hamada Khaled Jawabra and Mohammad Al-Daghaghma, from their homes in the Al-Arroub refugee camp, after assaulting them and their families.
Osama Makhamra, an activist against the illegal Israeli colonialist activities in Yatta town, south of Hebron, said the soldiers invaded the Islamic Charitable Society for Orphans in the town, several neighborhoods, and homes, causing extensive damage and breaking contents.
Makhamra added that the soldiers detained more than 20 Palestinians, assaulted them, and conducted field interrogations for several hours before releasing them.
After their release, several Palestinians sought treatment in hospitals and medical centers due to torture and abuse by the soldiers.
Yasser Mohammad, the Director-General of the Directorate of Education in Yatta, stated, “For the safety of students and the educational community, and given the current conditions in Yatta, today, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the classes will be suspended in the Yatta Directorate.”
Additionally, Israeli soldiers installed military roadblocks at all entrances to Hebron, its towns, villages, and refugee camps, searched citizens’ vehicles, obstructed their movement, and interrogated many while inspecting their ID cards.
In related news, the soldiers abducted six Palestinians, including two children, in several parts of the Bethlehem governorate, south of occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
On Tuesday dawn, Palestinian medical sources confirmed the death of a young man from serious wounds he suffered a month earlier, after Israeli soldiers invaded Jenin, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part, and killed his father.
The sources said the young man, Salah Mohammad Jabarin, died from his serious wounds at the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin.
