Israeli soldiers installed, Monday, two mobile homes on private Palestinian lands in Asira al-Qibliya town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors Israel’s illegal activities in northern West Bank, said the soldiers installed the two mobile homes in the ath-Thaher area of Asira, near the illegal Yitzhar colony which was built on stolen Palestinian lands.

Daghlas added that the soldiers remained in the area, an issue that raises fears among the residents who are likely to lose more lands, especially since Israel is planning to expand the colony.

While Israel continues to demolish Palestinian homes in Area C of the West Bank, including in and around the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, it continues to build and expand its illegal colonies in direct violation of International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
