On Sunday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man in the town of Silat ath-Thaher, southwest of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.

The General Authority for Civil Affairs notified the Palestinian Health Ministry of the death of the young man, Suleiman Fawaz Nassar Manasra, 24, after occupation forces shot him at the entrance to the illegal “Homesh” Israeli colony, built on stolen Palestinian lands southwest of Jenin.

The Health Ministry added that Israeli forces took the body of the slain young man who is a citizen of Qabatia town, south of Jenin.

Media sources said that the sound of heavy gunfire was heard at the entrance to the “Homesh” colony, built on the expropriated lands of Silat ath-Thaher, on Sunday evening, before witnesses saw a body on the ground with a gathering of soldiers nearby.

The army claimed that a shooting operation had taken place in the area, however there were no reports of any injuries among soldiers.

The Arab 48 News website reported that Manasra was killed after being shot in the chest with live ammunition.

Sources added that Israeli forces closed the road between Jenin and Nablus to the south, and the entrance to the nearby village of Bizzariya.

Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon, Israeli forces opened fire with tear gas canisters toward Palestinian journalists in the vicinity of the Jenin refugee camp.

WAFA correspondent reported that occupation soldiers fired tear gas canisters toward the journalist, Raya Arouq, a correspondent for Al-Alam News Channel, and photographer, Mohammad Abdel Khaleq, at one of the entrances to the Jenin refugee camp.

He added that occupation soldiers are preventing press crews from approaching the camp to document the arm’s destruction of property and infrastructure.

For 90 consecutive days, Israeli forces have conducted an unprecedented assault against the city of Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp, killing dozens of citizens, abducting and displacing many others, and causing severe destruction to civilian homes and vital infrastructure.

Military reinforcements including bulldozers continue to arrive in Jenin city and the Jenin refugee camp from the Jalama military roadblock, north of the city.

In a statement, Jenin Governor, Kamal Abu ar-Rob said on Sunday that at least 21,000 Palestinian citizens have been forcibly displaced by occupation forces, while efforts are being made to provide temporary housing for the displaced.

In related news, the army invaded the town of Arraba, southwest of Jenin, on Sunday at dawn, and abducted two Palestinian young men.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), occupation forces stormed the homes of the young men, Hussein Muawiya Qadan and Imad Firas Hamdan, before abducting them.

Furthermore, Israeli forces stormed the village of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin, on Sunday morning and opened fire towards Palestinian citizens.

Media sources said that occupation forces, accompanied by military bulldozers, invaded Kafr Dan, deploying infantry units throughout the village and firing live rounds at civilians; no injuries were reported.

In the town of Burqin, west of Jenin, Israeli soldiers abducted the young man, Ramzi Khalouf, after breaking into his home in the town.
