The Israeli bombardment continued unabated on Thursday, following an escalation on Wednesday in which over 100 Palestinian civilians were killed in a single day by US-funded Israeli bombs. An as-yet unknown number of Palestinian civilians were killed and injured, Thursday morning, in the ongoing Israeli shelling of various areas in the Gaza Strip.

The death toll from the Israeli occupation forces’ genocidal war and aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 52,760 killed and 119,264 wounded since October 7, 2023 .

Medical sources reported that the death toll includes 2,651 killed and 7,223 wounded since March 18, when the Israeli occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip, breaking the ceasefire that was carefully negotiated and put in place January 31.

Over the past 24 hours, Israeli forces killed 106 and injured 367 Palestinians. A number of victims remain under the rubble and debris and in the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and civil defense teams .

For more than 66 days, the Israeli occupation has prevented the entry of fuel, spare parts, and medical supplies into the Gaza Strip, leading to a near-collapse of the health sector, amid warnings of an impending catastrophe that could wipe out what little life remains in the few hospitals still operating.

Medical source confirmed that “what is happening is a systematic plan to put all hospitals out of service and slowly kill the wounded by blocking ambulances, cutting off electricity, and preventing the entry of medicines and even basic vaccinations for children.”This humanitarian crisis comes amidst the displacement of more than 90% of Gaza’s citizens from their homes due to Israeli displacement. Some have experienced this situation more than once, living in overcrowded shelters or out in the open, which has increased the spread of diseases and epidemics.

Update 11:59 pm:

Seven Palestinians, including two girls, were killed and dozens were injured when Israeli warplanes bombed Beit Hanoun town in the northern Gaza Strip and al-Nuseirat refugee camp in the center of the Strip.

In the pediatric ward of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, the only sound is the sound of oxygen machines that could stop at any moment, as the fuel for the generators is about to run out.

With the Gaza Strip facing a complete power outage, hospitals rely on generators as their sole source of energy. However, these generators are at risk of shutting down at any moment due to the severe fuel shortage and lack of spare parts, a consequence of the blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation and the destruction of many of them during the ongoing aggression.

Medical sources reported that the fuel available to Gaza’s hospitals is only sufficient for a few days, warning that the occupation’s continued obstruction of fuel supplies “threatens to bring them to a complete standstill.”
