A Palestinian citizen was seriously injured, Thursday before dawn, as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted the roof of Al-Daraj School, which houses displaced people in central Gaza City, according to a Wafa news correspondent, who added that the injured person was transferred to Baptist Hospital to receive treatment.
Earlier yesterday evening, two citizens were killed, one of them from his wounds, as Israeli occupation forces continued to bomb various areas of the Gaza Strip.
These developments come in light of the Israeli occupation’s continued bombing of the Gaza Strip, and the fall of more killed and wounded, at a time when the cumulative toll since the beginning of the aggression indicates the killing of 73,795 citizens and the injury of 174,869 others.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing confirmed the continuation of response and rescue efforts in coordination between its crews, international partners, municipalities and relevant authorities, to provide as many mechanisms and equipment as possible to help remove rubble, open roads and reach the affected areas, following the collapse of a residential building in Gaza City, which supports efforts to rescue the stranded and recover the killed.
The Ministry warned of the seriousness of the humanitarian and field conditions in the Gaza Strip, in light of the presence of a large number of damaged and dilapidated buildings, numbering more than 2,000 buildings, the accumulation of rubble, the difficulty of reaching a number of areas, and the accompanying increasing risks to the lives of citizens, especially with the approach of winter.
The Ministry stressed that confronting these risks requires providing the necessary machinery, heavy equipment, fuel and materials, to enable the competent crews to manage and remove the rubble, open roads, inventory the damage, and address the risks of damaged buildings, in addition to continuing to provide temporary shelter solutions for displaced and affected families.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is planning to deliver 40,000 powerful 2,000-pound bombs to Israel as part of a proposed $2.8 billion arms deal. The Biden administration paused a shipment of similar bombs in 2024 over concerns about their potential use in densely populated areas of Gaza and the risk of mass civilian casualties.
