Illegal Israeli colonizers killed two Palestinian brothers and injured several others on Monday, after invading the village of Qaryout, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the deaths of the two brothers Mohammad Taha Abdel-Majeed Muammar, 51, and Fahim Taha Abdul-Majeed Muammar, 48, who were killed by Israeli settlers.
The Ministry added that the slain brothers were killed with live ammunition fired by illegal colonizers; Mohammad was shot in the head, while his brother Fahim was shot in the pelvis.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews transported five citizens to the hospital who sustained live gunshot wounds; two were shot in the head, one was shot in the leg, and two were shot in the shoulder, including 15-year-old child.
Media sources reported that in addition to killing the Muammar brothers, Israeli settlers shot three other citizens, including a child, all under the protection of Israeli forces.
According to the “Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission,” thirty-nine Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israeli colonizers in the West Bank since October 7, 2023.
Minister Mu’ayyad Sha’ban, the head of the Commission stated that the escalation of Israeli settler attacks across the occupied West Bank is proof of systematic and organized terrorism which is carried out with the direct protection of the Israeli forces to impose a colonial reality by force.
Since the beginning of the Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, occupation forces and settlers have killed 1121 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 232 children and 24 women.
In the Jenin governorate, 310 Palestinians have been killed, while 213 were killed in Tulkarem, 144 in Nablus, 109 in Hebron, 98 in Tubas, 82 in Ramallah, 62 in Jerusalem, 44 in Qalqilia, 36 in Bethlehem, 15 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, and 8 in Salfit, according to the Shireen Observatory.
In related news, the army shot a young man with live rounds during its military invasion of the Old Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus.
Sources at the PRCS reported that their ambulance crews transported a young man (18) to the hospital for treatment after he sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh in the Old Askar camp.
Media sources reported that occupation forces stormed the camp at dawn Monday, breaking into and searching several citizens’ homes and interrogating their residents.
On Sunday, 25-year-old Mohammad Jihad Masalmeh succumbed to critical injuries, less than 24 hours after occupation soldiers shot him in the abdomen with live ammunition in the town of Doura, southwest of Hebron in the southern West Bank.
On Saturday, the young man Tamer Ismail Qaisiya, 19, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds he sustained three days earlier when Israeli colonizers opened heavy fire at his vehicle in the Yatta desert, south of Hebron.
