The statement comes as leaders of Islamic countries are currently holding their summit in Dakar.

The Committees said in its statement that the summit should focus on the Palestinian cause and the Israeli violations in Jerusalem, especially the ongoing annexation of Palestinian lands, occupying Palestinian houses and barring the residents from building homes in Jerusalem, in addition to land grab in order to construct Jewish settlement outposts. The Committees added that the Annexation Wall is totally isolating the holy city from the rest of the West Bank, and that the residents aren’t allowed to enter Jerusalem in order to pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Azmi Shiokhy, secretary-general of the Committees, appealed the summiting Arab leaders at the Organizing of the Islamic Conference to consider this issue as a top priority and achieve practical resolutions which could put an end to the Israeli threats against the mosque, and to support the steadfastness of the Palestinians in the Holy City, especially since they are being forced out of their homes and lands.

Israel continued its excavations under and near the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem which is affecting the foundation of this historic and religious holy site which is considered the third holiest shrine in Islam.
