Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Saeb Erekat, Monday, condemned U.S. National Security Advisor, John Bolton’s trip to Israel.

Along with Israeli officials, John Bolton, toured the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.

Erekat criticized Bolton for “supporting the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, including occupied East Jerusalem,  apartheid, illegal settlements, and annexation of territory occupied by force.”

Addressing the U.S. Administration, Erekat stated, “the real issue here is not whether someone is pro-Israel or pro-Palestine, it is whether you are pro-peace or against it.”

Mr. Erekat continued to say, “they [the U.S. Administration] are against the Palestinians and Israelis who aspire to achieve peace on the basis of two states [Israel and Palestine] living in peace and security, side by side, on the 1967 borders.”

The PLO Executive member asserted that the Trump Administration are “on the wrong side of history”, when it comes to the values of civilization.

He criticized the Israeli occupation, stating that “self-defense is not occupation, collective punishment, murdering medics, and disabled people, demolishing homes, siege, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid. It is defined as war crimes in accordance with international law.”
