For the first time ever, the Israeli Army participated in a NATO exersice. A total of 13 IDF commanders took part in the two-and-a-half week long training, which was held at a military base in Ukraine.
“This is the first time that soldiers on a tactical level have participated in any NATO military exercise. There have been senior commanders who have gone to NATO events as well as consultants, but never combatants like this,†Israeli Colonel Alon Friedman told The Jerusalem Post.

Friedman said that the army hopes it has passed over its â€Âknowledge and experiences†on combating terrorism to NATO, but also added that the IDF has “learned from them†due to their “experience with terrorism in light of their efforts to promote peace.â€Â
