The Israeli army, on Tuesday, informed the family of Palestinian detainee, Qassam Barghouthi, of its intention to demolish the family’s home in the central West Bank village of Kobar, the Head of Kobar village council, Izzat Badwan, told WAFA.
The army told the family that they have until Thursday to object to the order, but the family said it will not, since the court will rule against them, as they have in all similar cases.
Barghouthi was detained in September 2019 for allegedly taking part in planting a bomb near a Ramallah-area village that caused the death of one Israeli settler.
Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states; No protected person (civilians) may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.
