Israeli soldiers on Tuesday before dawn abducted eight Palestinians from different areas in the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society(PPS), Israeli troops stormed both Awarta and Beita villages of Nablus District, in northern West Bank, and abducted two Palestinian young men, Mojahed Awwad and Sameh Barakat.
In a statement, the society also noted that the same troops invaded Dura town, south of Hebron city, in southern West Bank, and abducted Ayoub Khadra.
In the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem, the soldiers abducted the head of the Jerusalem office of the PPS, Nasser Qous, from his home in the Sa’diyya neighborhood.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem, while the youths were carrying out volunteer work sterilizing public facilities, assisting the local Palestinian authorities in attempting to rein in the potential spread of Corona Virus.
Later on Monday, the eight youth were released, after they had signed commitments that they would place themselves under house arrest for a period of 15 days.
Israeli abduction campaigns of Palestinian residents are carried out on a nearly daily basis and are a constant part of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian areas in the occupied West Bank.
Currently, Israel holds around 5,000 Palestinian prisoners including men, women and some children, in various detention centers in both Israel and in the outskirts of Palestinian cities, towns and villages.
