The Israeli Air Force fired, on Thursday at night, several missiles into an area in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, causing damage.
Media sources said Israeli fighter jets fired missiles at a site, apparently used by an armed resistance group in Beit Lahia, causing damage to several buildings, including nearby homes.
There have been no reports of casualties as a result of the Israeli missiles.
The Israeli army said it was retaliating to flammable balloons that were reportedly flown from Gaza, and landed in areas in Eshkol and Hof Ashkelon colonies, near the besieged Gaza Strip, causing fires.
The army initially said the sources of the fires were unknown, but later issued another statement attributing them to the balloons, and added that the soldiers also “located and defused an explosive which was reportedly attached to a balloon.”
