Israeli navy ships, on Sunday, fired at Palestinian fishermen sailing in the Mediterranean, off the shore of Gaza City, forcing them to return to shore, Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
WAFA correspondent said the Israeli navy ships opened automatic fire and aimed water canons at the fishermen, who were sailing three nautical miles from the shore of the besieged Gaza Strip.
The fishermen were forced to end their fishing mission, due to arbitrary and oppressive measures taken by the Israeli navy, preventing the men from making a living.
No injuries were reported.
Thousands of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip depend on fishing as a means to feed their families.
For 13 years, the Israeli occupation has imposed a land, sea and air blockade on the tiny coastal enclave, which is home to two million Palestinians.
