Israeli soldiers arrested a Palestinian youth in Al Esawiyya village, near Jerusalem, after invading it and searching dozens of homes on sunday morning.

The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that soldiers closed the entrances of the village with concrete blocks and brome into dozens of homes.

Soldiers forced dozens of families out of their homes, and arrested Mohammad Na’im Mheisin, 17, who was then taken to an unknown destination.

A local source in the village reported that soldiers carried laptops with them and took data regarding the homes and residents.

Mohammad Abu Al Hommos, member of Al Esawiyya village council, said that the Israeli Authorities are trying to annex lands from the village for settlement expansion. Most of the threatened lands are agricultural.

Abu Al Hommos added that soldiers obstructed the movements of the residents, especially students, employees and laborers.

All of the village’s entrances remained closed except for one which was partially opened.
