Palestinian security sources in Gaza reported that the security devices are currently searching for an Italian resident who was abducted by an armed Palestinian group earlier on Sunday, in Khan Younis, in the southern part pf the Gaza strip.
The Italian resident was abducted after an armed group stopped a taxi in the center of Khan Younis, and forced him to accompany them and drove away.
A large police force chased the vehicle of the abductors but it managed to avoid them.
Meanwhile, Palestinian security men arrested four residents who belong to a group which calls itself "Al Aqsa Brigades – Ahl Al Sunna", and transferred them for interrogation.
The four residents are charged of connection with the abduction of the Italian resident.
Al Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fateh movement, denied any relation with the abduction, and this group "which is not affiliated in anyway with the brigades".
Ahmad Abu al Reesh Brigades, one of Fateh’s military wings, denied any relation with the abduction.
Also, Tawfiq Abu Khousa, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security, said that the security devices are conducting maximum efforts in order to locate and safely release the Italian resident, and arrest the assailants.
The abduction was carried out less than 24 hours after the Palestinian security devices managed to locate and safely release three Brits who were abducted for three days by an unknown armed group.
Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, said on Sunday that "It is time to impose law and order in the Palestinian territories".
He added that such acts of abductions and chaos are harmful to the Palestinian cause and legitimate struggle against the Israeli occupation.
"There acts only serve the Israeli allegations in installing the peace process", Abbas said, "Such acts harm our interests and efforts to rebuild the Palestinian society and economy".
