The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said that Israeli occupation forces abducted at least twenty Palestinians from across the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

PPS explained that among those abducted were five women: Jamila Abu Dahho and Jamila Kanaan from Ramallah; former prisoner Maisar al Faqih and Faten Hanaisha from Nablus; and Etaf Bader from Hebron. The army also abducted journalist Hasan Abdul-Jawad from Bethlehem.

The organization stated that Israeli forces continue to escalate abductions and field interrogations at an accelerated pace since the beginning of the genocide, targeting all sectors of Palestinian society as part of a policy of collective punishment and retaliation.

PPS added that Palestinian women face intensified targeting through ongoing abduction campaigns, including hostage‑taking, nighttime home invasions, and harsh interrogation methods.

It noted a rise in abductions based on Israeli claims of “incitement” on social media, describing this as a dangerous escalation in which the abduction of women is used as a tool of pressure and collective punishment. The number of Palestinian women held in Israeli prisons has now risen to 99.

The number of Palestinian journalists imprisoned by Israel has also increased to 42, including two subjected to enforced disappearance.

PPS emphasized that Israeli forces continue daily abduction campaigns across the occupied West Bank as part of a systematic and longstanding policy. Since the beginning of the genocide, the total number of abduction cases has surpassed 24,000.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex‑Detainees Affairs called on women’s organizations, civil society institutions, and all official and popular bodies to highlight Israel’s practices against Palestinian women, who have become daily targets of abduction, assault, and torture.

The Commission explained that the abduction of Palestinian women is part of a deliberate and expanding policy, with entire social sectors now being targeted.

At dawn Wednesday, Israeli forces abducted five community activists who have no political affiliations. Prior incidents included the abduction of Birzeit University students, media workers, and former prisoners.

The number of Palestinian women held in Israeli prisons has risen to 99, living under extremely harsh conditions and subjected to beatings, torture, humiliation, starvation, and the denial of basic human rights. The Commission noted that prison authorities deliberately inflict severe psychological and physical harm on them.

The Commission urged the international community and all people of conscience to intervene immediately and apply pressure on Israel to halt this systematic policy, warning against granting Israel further space to continue targeting Palestinian women and violating their rights.
