The Palestinian Authority signed an agreement with the through which the later would donate $10 million in direct aid to the Palestinian Authority, Palestinian sources reported on Thursday.

The agreement was signed between, head of the presidential council Dr. Rafiq Al-Husseini and the Russian representative at the Palestinian Authority, Alex Poghodine, at the Presidential compound in Ramallah in order not to violate the boycott the US and the EU has imposed against the Palestinian Government.

The donation is designated to pay salaries of the education health ministries only.

Al-Husseini said talks between the presidential council and different countries are being held in order to support the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with the Lord Michael Levi, representative of the British Prime Minister Tony Blair and discussed with him ways to enter aid monies to the Palestinian territories.

More than 100,000 Palestinian state employees still did not receive their pay checks for the month of April as a result of the boycott of the Hamas-formed government.

Hamas formed the Palestinian government after it won a majority of seats in the Palestinian Legislative Council elections in January 2006.  All Palestinian factions who made it to the council refused to join a coalition with Hamas to form the governent.
