On Monday evening, Palestinian medical sources have confirmed that Israeli soldiers injured more than 37 Palestinians, including children, and abducted twenty-three others, including two young women, after the army attacked dozens of Palestinians who gathered in Bab al-‘Amoud, marking the Isra and Mi’raj Muslim holiday.
The WAFA Palestinian News Agency said the soldiers and police officers assaulted dozens of Palestinians who were marking the Muslim holiday; however, the army did not want them to gather and started attacking them to force them to leave.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics provided treatment to 37 Palestinians, including eight who were rushed to hospitals for further treatment.
The PRCS added that one of the wounded is a child with special needs, was struck with a concussion grenade in the face.
It also said that a newborn, only six months of age, was struck with a concussion grenade in the face while with his family.
In addition, the soldiers abducted twenty-three Palestinians, including two young women.
The Israeli attacks occurred when hundreds of Palestinians, including families in Jerusalem, gathered in Bab al-Amoud to mark the Muslim holiday before the soldiers started spraying them with wastewater killed with chemicals.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli soldiers and the police have been deployed in various parts of occupied Jerusalem, including the Old City and all areas around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, since the early hours of Monday morning.
