The Israeli military reported on Monday that a right-wing Israeli paramilitary colonizer attempted to carry out a ramming attack directed at Israeli soldiers in the West Bank.
Several additional Israeli colonizers threw rocks at the soldiers.
No injuries were reported among the Israeli soldiers, who were stationed in the northern West Bank when they were attacked.
The Israeli soldiers tried to fire at the wheels of the attacking vehicle, but the assailant was able to escape, and has not been apprehended.
Israeli War Minister Yoav Galant told reporters that the military would have no tolerance for lawlessness, stating, “An attack on [Israeli army] soldiers by Jewish rioters is highly unacceptable. There will be no tolerance for lawbreakers.”
Palestinian leaders noted the irony of this statement, given that the previous night, the Israeli military showed a great deal of ‘tolerance’ for ‘lawbreakers’, as gangs of Israeli paramilitary settlers set on fire the homes and cars of hundreds of Palestinian civilians in Huwwara, near Nablus. During the entire assault, Israeli soldiers stationed nearby took no action, and allowed the riot to continue for over three hours.
