Update: Jun 8, 2023 at 12:34: Dr. Fadel Al-Batran, a Palestinian Neurosurgeon, it became clear that said the Palestinian journalist Momen Somrein, was shot in with a live round in the head behind the ear, but due to the helmet he was wearing, the bullet caused a skull fracture behind the ear, and led to bleeding below the brain.
Dr. Al-Batran added that the Palestinian suffered a mild traumatic brain injury resulting in memory loss but is now in stable condition.
He suffered a subdural hematoma and has some symptoms, including confusion, drowsiness, and nausea.
A second scan of the brain revealed that the bleeding is rescinding and the journalist seems to be recovering; however, his injury requires time to heal.
Media sources said a large military force, including the Israeli Combat Engineering Corps, invaded the old town area of Ramallah before surrounding a four-story residential building on about 250 square meters.
The property is home to Palestinian detainee Islam Al-Froukh, his parents, and his four sisters; the soldiers stormed the property, forced the family out, and removed the families from the surrounding buildings before wiring and detonating the second floor of the property.
The invasion began late Wednesday night and lasted until dawn when the army detonated the building.
Dozens of Palestinians protested the invasion into the area and many neighborhoods in Ramallah before the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
Medical sources said the soldiers shot six Palestinians, including two photojournalists, and caused many to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
The Health Ministry said one Palestinian suffered a moderate gunshot wound to the abdomen; two were shot in the legs and thighs; one was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the arm; a few others suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
Among the wounded is photojournalist Rabea Al-Monir, who was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the abdomen.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli believes Islam Al-Froukh was behind a bombing in a bus station in occupied Jerusalem on November 23, 2022, killings two Israeli and wounding eighteen others.
Israel claims Islam placed an explosive charge in a bag at a bus station and a second explosive in a motorcycle and that the explosives were detonated remotely.
On April 10, 2023, an Israeli court approved the destruction of the Al-Froukh family home, although it is a collective punishment act that violates International Law.
