Soldiers were deployed in several neighborhoods in the city, while armed resistance fighters engaged in intense exchange of fire with the invading army, and targeted armored vehicle with crude explosive devices.

During the incursion the army fired many live rounds, tear gas canisters, smoke bombs, and fired flares in the sky over the city.

In a massive search operation, the army broke into many citizens’ homes, occupying several homes, turning them into military posts.
