Updated: On Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded Azzoun town, east of Qalqilia in the occupied West Bank’s northwestern part, demolished two Palestinian homes, abducted a father and his son, and injured a young man.
Media sources said the soldiers demolished the two-story home of a Palestinian political prisoner, Tha’er Badwan, and the one-story home of Rashid Enaya.
The sources stated that each of the demolished homes in about 150-200 square meters and that the army claimed they were built without permits from the “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of the illegal Israeli occupation, although the local town council licensed the constructions.
The demolitions occurred after dozens of military vehicles, including an armored bulldozer invaded the town before the soldiers stormed and ransacked more than fifty homes, in addition to breaking into and ransacking many shops and stores.
The soldiers also destroyed the electricity network in the eastern area of the town, and closed many streets, before all local schools and kindergartens decided not to open for the day to ensure the safety of the children in their homes.
In related news, the soldiers invaded Qalqilia city, stormed and searched homes before abducting Ziad Daoud and his son Khaled, from their homes.
Also, the soldiers assaulted a young man at the Iron Gate the army installed at the eastern entrance of the town, causing various cuts and bruises before Red Crescent Society medics moved him to a hospital in Qalqilia.
