Dr. Mo’awiya Abu Hasanain, head of emergency department at the Palestinian Health Ministry, told reporters that an Israeli under-cover force, hiding among trees in the Israeli evacuated settlement of Eli Sinai, opened fire at Palestinian residents, inuring a number of them.
The Israeli army killed a resident early this morning and wounded another in the northern Gaza Strip. Israel has threatened recently it would carry out a ground offensive on the Gaza Strip, under the pretext of cracking down on Palestinian homemade shells being fired by resistance groups at nearby Israeli targets.
A six-month-old ceasefire in Gaza has been undermined over the past three weeks, following a series of Israeli attacks that killed 9 Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and a barrage of homemade shells into Israel that left no injuries.
