A Palestinian young man succumbed to his wounds, on Monday, after suffering injuries inflicted on him by the Israeli forces during an earlier attack on the northern West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of the young man, Ahmad Omar Mahmoud Azqili, 43, on Monday, after occupation forces shot him with live ammunition, causing critical injuries, in the city of Jenin.

Sources added that Azqili was shot and critically wounded on August 5, 2024, after Israeli soldiers stormed the city of Jenin.

On Monday, August 5, 2024, Israeli forces stormed the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, shot four Palestinians with live rounds, injuring two seriously, one sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and another to the abdomen.

Later, dozens of Palestinian young men gathered at the Grand Mosque to perform the funeral prayer, and proceeded to the slain man’s family home in the Eastern neighborhood in the city, to pay their last respects.

Participants marched through the streets of the city, chanting slogans condemning the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation.

In related news, the young man, Saif Mithqal Abu Dawwas, 27, died of wounds he sustained after an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle, which killed five young men in the city of Tubas, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.

On September 5, the army fired a missile at a car in Tubas, killing Mohammad Zakariyya Zobeidi, 21, Ahmad Fawwaz Abu Dawwas, 22, Mohammad Awad Abu Jom’a, 30, Qussai Majdi Abdul-Razeq, 26, and Mohammad Nathmi Abu Gharra, 22.

In related news, just after midnight on Sunday/Monday, Israeli forces shot an 18-year-old man and assaulted a young man after they invaded the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Media sources said that occupation soldiers shot a young man in the thigh with live ammunition, during the army’s withdrawal of the Balata camp.


Sources added that during the military incursion, Israeli forces assaulted a 23-year-old man after storming several citizens’ homes before withdrawing.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 705 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 158 children.

According to the Shireen Observatory, 705 Palestinian citizens have been killed in the occupied West Bank, including; 188 in Jenin, 151 in Tulkarem, 72 in Nablus, 71 in Hebron, 59 in Ramallah, 57 in Tubas, 44 in Jerusalem, 28 in Qalqilia, 19 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 41,226 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 95,413 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remained buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.
