Overnight until Monday morning, Israeli soldiers have abducted at least 45 Palestinians, including former political prisoners, from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated in a joint statement that among the abducted is former detainee Samah Hajawi, who was released in a previous prisoner-swap agreement, in addition to several former political prisoners.
The abductions were distributed across the governorates of Hebron, Jerusalem, Jericho, Bethlehem, Qalqilia, Nablus, and Jenin.

The statement noted that the number of abductions in the occupied West Bank since the start of the ongoing genocidal war a year earlier has exceeded 11,100 cases, encompassing all segments of Palestinian society, in addition to the abduction of thousands from the Gaza Strip.

These abduction campaigns come amid the comprehensive aggression launched by the army against the Palestinian people and constitute retaliatory measures that fall under the crime of collective punishment in direct violation of International Law.
These abductions have been, and continue to be, one of the most consistent and systematic policies used by the illegal Israeli occupation to undermine any resistance against it.
On Monday morning, Israeli soldiers invaded the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, shot four Palestinians, one seriously; among the wounded are two children. The soldiers also abducted sixteen Palestinians.
Also Monday, Palestinian Medical sources announced the death of Sheikh Ziad Abu Ehlayyel (66 years old) after he was violently assaulted by Israeli soldiers who stormed his home in the town of Doura, south of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank’s southern part.
