On Friday, Israeli soldiers caused several Palestinians, including children and a woman, to suffocate due to the effects of tear gas inhalation and caused damage to an ambulance after firing a gas bomb at it, during a procession against the illegal Israeli colonialist activities in Beita town, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
The Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) said a number of Palestinians were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation and added that the soldiers also fired a gas bomb at an ambulance, shattering its windshield.
The PMRS stated that the soldiers tried to prevent the medics from reaching wounding Palestinians and closed streets.
A PMRS medic said the team was treating wounded Palestinians, including children and an elderly woman, when the soldiers targeted the ambulance with a gas bomb, shattering its windshield.
The medic said its crews dealt with 20 cases of suffocation due to tear gas inhalation, provided field treatment to the injured, and transferred one Palestinian to the hospital.
The violations occurred when the army attacked nonviolent protests, marching against the escalating Israeli violations, and the theft of Palestinian land for illegal colonialist activities in and around Beita.
The town of Beita is subjected to repeated violations by Israeli forces and illegal paramilitary colonizers, following the establishment of the “Avitar” colonialist outpost on stolen Palestinian lands at the top of Sbeih Mountain.
On September 6th, Israeli forces killed Turkish-American solidarity activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, years old) during a nonviolent procession in Beita.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to Aysenur, Israel has now killed 17 Palestinians, during nonviolent processions since e the establishment of the “Avitar” outpost on the stolen Palestinian lands in May 2021.
