Palestinian medical sources reported on Monday that a Palestinian man died of wounds he sustained during an Israeli attack that targeted Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip several days ago.

Sari Abu Samrah was a fighter from Hamas’ armed wing – the Al- Qassam brigades, Hamas sources reported.

The brigades said that Abu Samrah was critically wounded during clashes with the Israeli army days ago. Doctors announced his death on Monday at dawn.

The European Campaign to end the siege on Gaza issued a report on Monday stating that the 11 month long Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip has left 32 patients dead during the month of May 2008.

The report added that with the May death toll, the overall number of patients who died in Gaza due to the Israeli siege that started in June 2007 now stands at 171.

According to the report there are 1329 patients suffering from chronic diseases in Gaza who are now in grave danger due to the continued Israeli siege on the Palestinian coastal region.

The Israeli army kidnapped seven Palestinian civilians during pre dawn attacks targeting several West Bank cities and towns on Monday.

Palestinian sources said that Israeli forces attacked and searched homes in villages near Ramallah, in Bethlehem, and in Jenin, and Nablus. The sources added that during those attacks the Israeli army kidnapped seven civilians and took them to unknown locations.
