On Saturday, Day 653 of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Day 124 since Israeli violated the mediated ceasefire agreement, the Israeli army continued the bombing and shelling of various parts of the devasted, starved and besieged Gaza Strip, killing at least 136 Palestinians, and wounding hundreds, including children and women.

Medical sources reported that 136 Palestinians were killed on Saturday alone in ongoing Israeli bombardments and gunfire across the besieged and devastated Gaza Strip. Among the dead were 38 civilians targeted while waiting for humanitarian aid, and three children who died from severe malnutrition.

Al-Jazeera said that at least 116 Palestinians, including 38 people near food aid sites in Rafah, killed and dozens wounded, in Israeli attacks across Gaza Saturday, raising the cumulative toll of civilians killed while seeking food and assistance to 891, with over 5,754 injured.

The Israeli army also continued wiring and detonating homes and residential buildings the western parts of Rafah.

Also, rescue teams also recovered the bodies of eight Palestinians from the areas of Bani Soheila and Sheikh Nasser east of Khan Younis, and from beneath the rubble of a home belonging to the Abu Sahloul family in the city’s western camp, in southern Gaza.

More than 21 civilians, including children, were killed in airstrikes targeting makeshift tents sheltering displaced residents in al-Mawasi Khan Younis, near Dream Hall west of the city, and in the Japanese Quarter and Taiba Towers. A one-year-old girl has died from malnutrition in Deir Al-Balah, in central Gaza, according to a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Since the onset of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza in October 2023, at least 69 children have succumbed to malnutrition.

This latest fatality coincides with a stark warning from Gaza’s Health Ministry, which reports a surge in the number of Palestinians arriving at hospitals in critical condition, suffering from severe malnutrition, extreme exhaustion, and profound fatigue.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) recently warned that the rate of malnutrition among children under five has doubled between March and June, as a result of the prolonged Israeli blockade on Gaza.

UNRWA-run health centers conducted around 74,000 screenings during that period, identifying nearly 5,500 cases of severe acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of its most critical form.

In central Gaza, 11 civilians were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting an apartment in a building owned by the Aqel family in al-Zawaida town.

Three more were killed in an airstrike on Block 6 in al-Bureij refugee, while a child was fatally shot near Wadi Gaza bridge.

In Gaza City, six civilians, including four children, were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a displacement tent in al-Daraj neighborhood. The bodies of four additional civilians were retrieved from various bombarded locations across the city.

Medical sources also confirmed the deaths of two more children, including a newborn due to starvation. The United Nations said thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are on “the verge of catastrophic hunger.”

The Palestinian health Ministry said all medical staff and workers in hospitals across the Gaza Strip, have not eaten even one small meal over the last 24 hours, in addition to jeopardize their capabilities in treating the wounded and the patients.

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, citing a political source familiar with the talks, Israel is, reportedly for the first time, engaged in direct negotiations with Hamas aimed at halting the ongoing war.

The source emphasized that these negotiations differ markedly from previous agreements centered on the exchange of Israeli “hostages” and Palestinian prisoners.

The report surfaced as thousands of Israelis staged a demonstration in Tel Aviv’s “Hostage Square,” part of weekly protests demanding a comprehensive deal that would secure the simultaneous release of all captives.

Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that officials have indicated that a political agreement related to Gaza could be finalized within two weeks.

The report adds that anticipation is growing over the expected arrival of Brett McGurk’s deputy, Bill Wietkov, in Doha – Qatar, in the coming days to advance negotiations.

It stated that U.S. President Donald Trump’s is “optimistic,” following his meeting last Wednesday with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, in which diplomatic efforts were discussed.

On Friday, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl died from acute malnutrition in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, as the humanitarian crisis deepens under Israeli blockade and ongoing military assaults.

Medical sources reported that hospitals across the Gaza Strip are currently handling hundreds of patients of various ages suffering from severe hunger and malnutrition, many in critical states of exhaustion.

Among them, over 17,000 children are reportedly suffering from acute malnutrition, with additional patients exhibiting fatigue-induced memory loss linked to extreme hunger.

Health officials confirmed that hospitals lack the necessary beds and medications to treat the overwhelming number of cases. The situation has worsened as humanitarian infrastructure collapses under the pressure of war and siege.

In the last 48 hours, hospitals received the bodies of dozens of Palestinians, three of them recovered from beneath rubble, and 511 injured. Medical teams stressed that many casualties remain trapped under debris or on roadways, unreachable due to severe security restrictions and bombardment.

The death toll from Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 58,765, including at least 17,131 children, 10,190 women and 259 journalists, with 140,485 others injured, largely children, women and elderly, since October 7, 2023.

Among these figures, more than 7,938 Palestinians, including 1,533 children, 486 women, 247 elderly and 31 journalists,  have been killed and at least 28,444 wounded since March 18, when Israel violated the mediated ceasefire agreement on March 18, 2025.
