Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man on Thursday evening, after invading the New Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Media sources said that 18-year-old Mohammad Ahmad Khamis Abu Hanin succumbed to live gunshot wounds, on Friday morning, in the New Askar refugee camp.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed that a young man was critically injured on Thursday evening after occupation forces shot him in the back with live ammunition.

WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces stormed the New Askar refugee camp on Thursday evening, sparking protests from local Palestinian youths, while soldiers opened fire with live rounds at those who resisted the incursion.


On Thursday afternoon, occupation forces invaded the city of Nablus, in addition to storming the Balata refugee camp, east of the city, on Thursday night.

Media sources reported that the army stormed Nablus city from the Al-Murabba’a military roadblock, southwest of the city and invaded citizens’ homes and commercial shops in the Al-Almaniya neighborhood.


The sources added that soldiers stormed and searched an agricultural shop selling fertilizers, before storming the eastern part of the city and erecting a flying military roadblock on the Badhan-Nablus road.

WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces stormed the Balata camp, east of Nablus, on Thursday night, deploying infantry units in several neighborhoods, and firing live rounds and concussion grenades; no injuries were reported.

Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 222 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 40 children and 6 women.


Occupation forces have killed 75 Palestinians in Jenin, 40 in Nablus, 29 in Tubas, 18 in Hebron, 17 in Tulkarem, 17 in Ramallah, 9 in Bethlehem, 7 in Jerusalem, 6 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho, according to the Shireen Observatory.

In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 68,280, including women and children, while at least 170,375 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.

On Friday afternoon, Palestinians gathered at the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus to receive the body of the slain young man, before proceeding to the Martyrs’ Square in the city center.

In the New Askar refugee camp, family members said their final goodbyes to Abu Hanin, before burying him the camp cemetery.
