A young man was shot, Wednesday evening, in an attack by Israeli paramilitary colonizers against Palestinian civilians in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah.

Local sources reported that armed Israeli colonists attacked the Khirbet al-Tall area, south of the town, and opened fire on a number of young men in the area, resulting in a young man being shot in the foot. His injury was described as minor.

The Sinjil Municipality said that the colonists carried out an armed attack, firing showers of live bullets at the “People’s Guard Committee”, which is ensuring the protection of the town and its people.

The Municipality added: “This crime comes within the framework of the escalation of attacks by colonialists supported by the occupation army against Palestinian villages and towns, in an attempt to impose a new colonial reality on the ground”.

The United Nations said that Israeli colonial attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank during October reached a record high — the highest monthly toll of violent attacks against Palestinians in nearly 20 years.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 766 attacks by colonists during the past month, concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 195 attacks, Nablus with 179 attacks, and Hebron with 126 attacks.

The Commission stated in its monthly report that the terrorist attacks of the colonists led to the killing of citizen Jihad Muhammad Ajaj (26 years old) from the town of Deir Jarir, in a direct shooting operation by colonists, bringing the number of citizens who were martyred by colonists’ bullets since the beginning of 2025 to 14.

Earlier this week, armed Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian farmer as he was harvesting olives in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah. They beat him and stole the harvested olives.
