Nine Palestinians were killed on Wednesday and dozens more were injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting several neighborhoods across the devastated Gaza Strip. The attacks, which struck civilian areas as well as police and municipal sites, come amid continued Israeli bombardment of the besieged coastal enclave.

Israeli forces carried out an assassination attempt in the evening against Azzam Khalil al‑Hayya, the son of senior Hamas official Khalil al‑Hayya, by firing a drone‑launched missile at him in the ad‑Daraj neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.

Medical sources reported that Azzam sustained critical injuries, while one of his companions, Hamza al‑Sharabasi, was killed instantly.

The strike caused significant damage to the surrounding area and triggered a large-scale emergency response.

Earlier in the day, three Palestinians were killed and many others were wounded when Israeli warplanes struck a gathering of civilians in the Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City.

Ambulances transported the victims to al‑Ahli Baptist Hospital, where several of the wounded were admitted in critical condition.

The three Palestinians killed in the attack were identified as Sakhr Fahmi Kashko, Hamdan Sakhr Kashko, and Mohammad Basheer Kashko.

In southern Gaza, Israeli aircraft conducted a targeted assassination in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, killing Colonel Nassim al‑Kalzani (Abu Majdi), a senior officer with the Palestinian Police in Gaza.

The strike directly hit his vehicle, killing him at the scene. Al‑Kalzani’s son was killed in a targeted strike in the early stages of the Israeli onslaught in Gaza.

Ten additional civilians were injured in the attack, several of them suffering life‑threatening wounds. The strike is part of a pattern of Israeli attacks on police personnel and civil defense workers throughout the Strip.

Medical teams at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza also received the body of Rami Abu Wafah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Salahuddin Street near the Abu Jibba station in al‑Zaytoun on Tuesday evening. The attack targeted a busy roadway used by displaced families and emergency vehicles.

Hospitals in Gaza further announced the deaths of three Palestinians who succumbed to injuries sustained in earlier Israeli strikes. Among them was Master Sergeant Mohammad Mustafa al‑Khatib of the Gaza Police, who had been critically wounded when Israeli forces struck a police post in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.

Mohammad al‑Attar died from severe injuries he sustained in a strike on al‑Jalaa Street in Gaza City on Tuesday, while Khaled Mohammad Jouda, also a member of the police force, died from wounds inflicted in an Israeli attack several days ago.

In a separate development, Israeli quad‑copter drones dropped small explosive devices on the Shawa and Hosary Tower in the al‑Rimal neighborhood and on the roof of a home in al‑Sabra in Gaza City. No injuries were reported, though the incidents caused panic among residents and added to the widespread destruction of residential buildings.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Israeli violations of the “ceasefire” have now resulted in 837 Palestinian deaths and 2,381 injuries since the agreement began on October 11, 2025. It added that rescue teams have recovered 769 bodies from streets and bombarded buildings during this period.

The Health Ministry stated that cumulative toll of the genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,619 Palestinians killed and 172,484 wounded.
