The Islamic Movement reported, Thursday, that the commander of the so-called “Israeli Front Command” of the army, issued a new decision preventing the imprisoned head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in the country, Sheikh Raed Salah, from entering Jerusalem for additional three months.Sheikh Salah is currently imprisoned after being sentenced to five months starting on July 25. Israel holds Sheikh Salah responsible for clashes that took place near the Mughrabi Gate in Jerusalem on February 7th .

The Israeli decision was based on the “Emergency Law” that was instated during the British occupation in the region.

The Islamic Movement issued a press release stating that the commander of the Home Front of the Israeli army issued an order preventing Sheikh Salah from entering Jerusalem for five months starting on July 25.

Attorney Zaher Njeidat, spokesperson of the Islamic Movement, stated that this decision is “mixed with stupidity and injustice” and that such a decision issued against an already imprisoned leader is unfair and a representation of the illegality of Israel’s “legal system”.

“Our relation with Jerusalem and the al-Aqsa Mosque is a spiritual and religious issue”, Njeidat stated, “your illegal orders and rulings will not help you, and your military orders are illegal and cannot prevent us from entering Jerusalem”.
