On Sunday, Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian man and injured another after opening fire on their vehicle near Haddad Resort, east of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the General Authority for Civil Affairs informed it that Israeli soldiers had killed Sami Hasan Hussein Zawaida, 32.
Local sources said the soldiers fired live rounds at a vehicle carrying two Palestinians, killing Zawaida and wounding the other man. The wounded man’s condition remained unknown at the time of publication.
The army continued to withhold Zawaida’s body and prevented Palestinian Red Crescent Society medics from approaching the scene.
The shooting occurred near a recently established Israeli military base in the Haddad area, close to the site of the former Ganim colony, east of Jenin.
The Israeli army alleged that the vehicle had attempted to ram soldiers before they fired several live rounds at it. The claim could not be independently verified.
Following the shooting, the army deployed reinforcements, imposed a military cordon, closed roads leading to the area, and conducted searches.
Since the beginning of 2026, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 102 Palestinians, including three children, across the occupied West Bank. Nineteen were killed by colonizers.
