An Israeli colonizer was killed Sunday in a shooting near the illegal Neveh Tzuf colony, west of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank. The Israeli army later abducted a wounded Palestinian from a hospital, alleging that he carried out the attack.
Israeli sources identified the slain man as Netanel Shakaron, 30. He was accompanied by his eldest son, who was not injured.
Palestinian media said the shooting occurred in Ein Wadi Raya, near Deir Nitham, northwest of Ramallah.
Israeli forces invaded the area, launched extensive searches, and imposed a siege. Soldiers later invaded the Hclinic Specialized Hospital in Al-Bireh and abducted the wounded Palestinian. The soldiers also confiscated a car that was reportedly used by the shooter.

The shooting comes amid escalating attacks by illegal Israeli colonizers across the occupied West Bank, including assaults on Palestinians, gunfire at homes, attacks on farmland and livestock, property damage, and attempts to break into homes in several governorates.

UN OCHA documented more than 1,600 colonizer attacks causing Palestinian casualties or property damage across 275 West Bank communities from January through August 2026—an average of 6.7 attacks per day.
Since the beginning of 2026, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 102 Palestinians, including three children, across the occupied West Bank. Nineteen were killed by colonizers.
