Israeli forces and illegal Israeli colonizers escalated their attacks across the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, on Sunday. At least four Palestinians were wounded, while Israeli forces invaded communities, broke into homes and abducted residents.
In the Nablus governorate, in the northern West Bank, paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked two Palestinians in the Wadi ash-Sha’er area between Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya and the road leading to Salfit, stabbing one in the thigh and wounding the other in the head.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its crews treated both wounded men. Colonizers also damaged several Palestinian-owned vehicles.
Near Ramallah, in the central West Bank, colonizers invaded the outskirts of Burqa on Sunday evening, broke into an agricultural room and vandalized its contents.
Elsewhere in the Ramallah governorate, colonizers invaded the outskirts of Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of the city, under Israeli military protection, and blocked a side road used by Palestinian residents.
Colonizers also hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles on the Marj Si’ road between Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah. They attempted to ram one vehicle, causing property damage.
Near Jericho, in the northeastern West Bank, Israeli colonizers hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles near the illegal Mitzpe Yeriho colony, built on confiscated Palestinian land southwest of the city, while other groups invaded Jericho under Israeli military protection.
In the Bethlehem governorate, colonizers gathered near the illegal Efrat colony and at the Tuqu’ roundabout, southeast of Bethlehem, and hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling toward Tuqu’ and the southern communities of Beit Fajjar, Al-Manshiya, Jorat ash-Sham’a, Marah Mu’alla, Marah Rabah, Umm Salamuna and Wadi an-Nis.
Colonizers also attacked a vehicle driven by Zaki Daoud al-Amour near the Tuqu’ roundabout, wounding him and damaging the vehicle. They detained him at the scene and prevented an ambulance from reaching him.
In the Hebron governorate, in the southern West Bank, colonizers invaded the Safa area of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, set fire to a Palestinian-owned vehicle and assaulted residents. Salim Mohammad Hussein Adi said colonizers tried to attack him while he was on his land and burned his vehicle.
Media activist Mohammad Awad said colonizers also invaded two homes in the area, assaulted women and children, and attempted to abduct a child before residents confronted them.
In a separate attack in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, colonizers assaulted Farid al-Hamamda in the Fateh Sidro area and sprayed him with pepper spray, causing breathing difficulties, according to activist Osama Makhamra.
In Hebron city, large groups of colonizers invaded the Old City under heavy Israeli military deployment and protection, while soldiers imposed restrictions on the movement of Palestinian residents.
In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces imposed severe restrictions on the movement of Palestinians and their access to Jerusalem’s Old City, while intensifying their deployment around Al-Aqsa Mosque and throughout the Old City.
Military Invasions and Abductions
Alongside the colonizer attacks, Israeli forces invaded cities, towns and villages across the occupied West Bank, broke into homes and abducted Palestinians.
In the Ramallah governorate, Israeli forces, accompanied by large groups of colonizers, invaded the eastern area of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, and began breaking into homes and abducting residents.
The invasion was continuing at the time of reporting. Soldiers also invaded Al-Mazra’a ash-Sharqiya, east of Ramallah, and deployed across several areas of the town; no abductions or home invasions were reported there.
In the Nablus governorate, Israeli forces invaded the Tal Street area and a residential building in the Al-Makhfiyya neighborhood, where they detained a young Palestinian man. Soldiers also invaded Asira ash-Shamaliya, Asira al-Qibliya and Osarin, south of Nablus.
In the Jenin governorate, in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded Qabatia and Meithalun, south of Jenin.
In the Qalqilia governorate, in the northwestern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded Kafr Thulth, east of Qalqilia, where they broke into and searched several Palestinian homes.
In the Tubas governorate, in the northeastern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded Aqqaba, north of Tubas, broke into several homes and abducted Ayman Qassem Abu Arra after searching his home and vandalizing its contents.
Ayman Abu Arra is the father of political prisoners Mohammad and Mo’men Abu Arra, whom Israeli forces abducted several months ago after they had spent nearly a year in detention by Palestinian Authority security services.
In the Tulkarem governorate, in the northwestern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded the Habash Farm in the northern area of Bal’a, east of Tulkarem, and abducted three workers from the property, which belongs to Odai Abu Younis. The abducted workers were identified as Ward Abu Younis; Amer al-Labadi, a resident of Kafr al-Labad; and Sa’id al-Illari.
In the Salfit governorate, in the central West Bank, Israeli forces invaded the northern entrance to Salfit and the entrances to Deir Ballut, Rafat and Marda, closing them and obstructing Palestinian movement. Soldiers also attacked a vehicle belonging to Aysar Shamlawi near Salfit’s northern entrance.
In the Jerusalem governorate, Israeli forces invaded Biddu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, and surrounded the Abdullah ibn Jaber Mosque while worshippers were performing the afternoon prayer, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.
In a separate incident, Israeli forces invaded Sur Baher, southeast of occupied Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Governorate said confrontations erupted near the town’s entrance, where soldiers fired concussion grenades and toxic gas canisters, igniting fires in several shops.
Continuing Escalation
The attacks occurred during the Jewish holiday period, as colonizers invaded religious and archaeological sites across the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. Israeli forces also tightened restrictions on Palestinian movement, particularly in Jerusalem’s Old City.
According to the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonizers carried out 2,030 attacks in August, including 1,402 by Israeli forces and 628 by colonizers. The attacks were concentrated in the Nablus, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jenin and Jerusalem governorates.
In related news, Israeli occupation forces killed Sami Hasan Hussein Zawaida, 32, and injured another after opening fire on their vehicle near Haddad Resort, east of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.
Also, an Israeli colonizer Netanel Shakaron, 30, was killed in a shooting near the illegal Neveh Tzuf colony, west of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank. The Israeli army later abducted a wounded Palestinian from a hospital and accused him of carrying out the attack.
