The Popular Resistance Committees, and its armed wing the Salah ed-Deen Brigades, issued a press release stating that one of their fighters died on Sunday night at midnight of wounds suffered Friday when the army bombarded Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.The fighter was identified as Saraqa Rashad Qdeih, 18; he is the second to be killed in this attack as the bombardment led to the death of Naji Fawzi Qdeih, 34.
Medical sources in Khan Younis said that a third resident who was wounded in the air strike remains in a serious health condition.
The Brigades vowed retaliation and stated that armed resistance is “the only language that the enemy understands”.
On Friday at dawn, an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian fighter were killed during armed clashes near the Israeli military base Kissufim near Central Gaza.
Also on Friday, five Palestinians were injured when the Israeli air force fired missiles targeting Abasan al-Kabeera town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Last week, two Israeli soldiers of the Golani Brigade were wounded during a gun battle with Palestinian fighters near Kissufim.
