On Thursday evening, Israeli soldiers shot and killed one Palestinian, and wounded another, when the two allegedly tried to infiltrate into Israeli territory.
The wounded resident suffered serious injuries and was moved to Soroka Hospital, in Be’er Sheva.
Israeli Ynet News reported that the army only released information about the incident on Friday, and added that the army is investigating whether the infiltrators intended to carry out an attack in Israel, or were just smugglers.
The Israeli Radio said that initial information revealed that the slain resident is from the Gaza Strip, and that he was killed in an area close to where one Israeli was killed and several others were wounded in a shooting attack that took place on June 18.
