Israeli soldiers detain the Palestinian Prime minster for one hour and kidnap 30 civilians during dawn invasions targeting West Bank communities. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
On Tuesday Israeli soldiers invaded different parts of the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and kidnapped at least 30 Palestinians.
The army has alleged that the kidnapped Palestinians are “wanted”, and were moved to different interrogation centers, Israeli sources reported.
According to Palestinian sources invasions and kidnappings were reported in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarem, northern West Bank, Ramallah city, centeal West Bank, and East Jerusalem and nearby town. Most of those kidnapped were taken from Jerusalem and nearby towns.
This week saw an escalation in army kidnappings targeting Palestinian civilians this week. On Monday Israeli soldiers invaded various Palestinian communities in different parts of the occupied West Bank, violently searching homes after invading them, and kidnapped seventeen Palestinians.
Elsewhere, Israeli forces, on Tuesday, erected an iron gate at the main entrance to the Bethlehem village of Nahhalin. Locals sources said that in 2001, Israeli forces blockaded a road connecting the village to Hebron.
On Tuesday, they removed the earth mounds blocking the road and replaced them with an iron gate, which is expected to give villagers access to Route 60, a main highway for Israeli settlers running the length of the West Bank.
In other news Israeli soldiers manning a checkpoint at the northern entrance to Ramallah, Tuesday, stopped the convoy of Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah for a security check, and kept him there for one hour, according to a government statement.
According to the statement, this is the fourth time the Israeli army has stopped Hamdallah’s convoy this month, The Palestinian government denounced the act and the demand by the soldiers to inspect the identity cards of Hamdallah’s guards.
The government said that this action is a part of provocative steps by the Israelis which target Palestinian citizens, as well as the prime minister’s convoy.
