Israeli rabbi Yehuda Glick has once again broken into al-Aqsa Mosque, Sunday morning, accompanied by a group of Israeli settlers.
Protected by Israeli police, settlers stormed the mosque from al-Maghareba Gate and toured the courtyards, Al Ray reports.
According to the Safa agency, director of media at Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage, Mahmoud Abu al-Atta, said that the settlers spent half an hour in the mosque before leaving.
Hundreds of worshipers and students had been in the backyards of the mosque since early morning.
Al-Atta stated that Israeli police had tightened their restrictive measures at the gates, especially against summer students.
The mosque has been the site of frequent raids, in recent months, during which settlers are often accompanied by Israeli security forces, and have repeatedly forced their way into the Al-Aqsa complex.
Such violations, at times have led to violent confrontations.
Just two days ago, following Friday prayers in the Old City of Jerusalem, 28 Palestinians were injured and eight detained during fierce clashes which broke out after Israeli troops stormed Al-Aqsa mosque with the intention of dispersing a protest organized in solidarity with hunger-striking Palestinian detainees.
