50,000 government employees in the Gaza Strip held a strike, today, in protest against salaries not yet received. The Head of Personnel Union in Gaza, Mohamed Seyam, said, according to Al Ray: ‘All government officials in the Gaza Strip, strike for one day to protest against non-receipt of their basic rights.’
The strike excludes Ministry of Health employees due to the current stream of Israeli aggressions against the region, Seyam added.
Additionally, he says that the union has delivered, to Labor Minister Mamoun Abu Shahla, a message to be announced at today’s weekly meeting of the Palestinian government.
The striking employees have not received their saleries for more than three months, Al Ray reports.
