Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip have reported that several Palestinians have been killed, and dozens of residents wounded, many seriously, as the Israeli army intensified its strikes against the Gaza Strip, and initiated a massive ground invasion. The sources said that resident Omar Eid al-Mahmoum, 18, was killed by an Israeli shell in the Shweika area in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, while a number of residents have been wounded.
The army fired dozens of shells into the Shweika area, hitting several homes at random, while the residents tried to seek shelter elsewhere, where they have also been targeted.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health confirmed two brothers, identified as Nassim Mahmoud Nassier and Karam Mahmoud Nassier, were killed in extensive Israeli bombardment targeting Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry added that dozens of Palestinians have been hospitalized after suffering burns and respiratory issues due to toxic shells fired by the army in northern Gaza, and in Shweika area, in Rafah.
Israeli missiles in Rafah also wounded several Palestinians, while medics and rescue teams have been unable to reach any of the targeted areas due to extensive and continuous Israeli shelling.
