Israeli soldiers invaded, on Wednesday evening, Silwad town, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and clashed with dozens of residents before firing gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets and concussion grenades.The clashes took place after the soldiers stormed dozens of shops in the town, and confiscated surveillance tapes; the search also caused excessive property damage.
It is worth mentioning that, three days ago, the Israeli military started surrounding the village, every single day, and completely sealing it from early morning hours until the evening.
The village has been subject to constant Israeli military invasions and assaults, while the soldiers frequently force families out of their homes for several hours, while occupying their property and using the rooftops as monitoring towers and firing posts.
Also on Wednesday evening, soldiers kidnapped a Palestinian, identified as Hikmat Shteiwy, 41 years of age, after stopping him on a sudden roadblock near Jeet village in the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
The kidnapped Palestinian is from Kufur Qaddoum village, in the northern West Bank district of Qalqilia.
The soldiers stopped a car on the roadblock, and kidnapped Shteiwy as he was heading back home from Nablus.
The army also invaded Kufur Malek village, near Ramallah, and clashed with local youths. The soldiers withdrew from the village later, no arrests or injuries were reported.
