Israeli soldiers arrested on Tuesday a child near Huwwara military checkpoint near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and claimed that he attempted to detonate a pipe bomb.
The army claimed that the child, Hasan Hashash, 15 years old, attempted to detonate an explosive belt hidden under a jacket he was wearing; soldiers suspected the child since he was wearing a jacket on a hot day.
“The boy pulled a matchbox out, help a pipe bomb, and attempted to detonate itâ€Â, army source reported.
According to the army, five pipe bombs were found with the child, and a knife.
Military engineers dispatched and neutralized the explosive.
