Palestinian sources reported that the Palestinian Authority filed a complain to the World Health Organization (WHO) claiming that Israel uses harmful scanning equipment on one of its borders, where most of the passengers are Palestinians.
The scanning machine is in Rafah border crossing to Egypt, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Whoever passes through this machine is seen naked on a screen that officers watch which violates the passengers privacy and contradicts with the traditions of Arabs and Moslems.
In addition, the Palestinian Authority complained that this machine produces radiations that is harmful to the body and could stimulate cancer cells.
The United Nations asked Israel for explanations on this equipment. Israel responded by saying that the equipment used matches the international standards and similar machines are used in airports in England and the Netherlands.
