The Israeli Police Investigation Unit arrested on Wednesday four Israeli policemen charged of selling weapons to Arab residents of east Jerusalem.
A fifth policeman was also arrested on the same charges, but was released later on.
Two of the policemen were confined to house arrest, while the other two remained in custody.
An Israeli police source reported that Yitzhak Cohen, 23, and Yacov Siegal, 20, from Ashdod admitted to the charges during a hearing in the Jerusalem court.
Justice David Mintis, decided to renew there interrogation period of the two policemen for additional five days.
The investigation department said that two are members of the border guards unit, which belongs to the Israeli army, one policeman, while the fourth served as a policeman in the border guards units.
The four policemen are also charged with transferring Palestinian residents into Israel without obtaining the needed permits.ÂÂ
