A medical source in the West Bank city of Salfit reported that twenty residents suffocated after inhaling gas fired by the army, during clashes which erupted in Marda village after military bulldozers uprooted farmlands in order to construct the Separation Wall.
The residents were protesting in on farmlands located between the village and Ariel settlement; soldiers attempted to bar the residents from reaching the construction area, and fired gas bombs and ruber coated bullets.
Also, Reuters cameraman, Nasser Eshtiyya, was badly bruised after the soldiers attacked and clubbed him while he was reporting the events, and filming the clashes.
A resident, identified as Wasef al-Khafsh, was hospitalized at Rafidia hospital in Nablus after sustaining first degree burns in his leg after being hit by a gas bomb fired by the army.
